ISC West Opens Hot In Vegas

Our first e-newsletter marks the opening of the tradeshow season, and there’s no better way than to kick off with ISC West. The tradeshow itself is my favorite. The show is always well done, attendance is expected to be on the rise as this marks the time of year when new products are introduced in the industry.

Security Products is all about new product extravaganza and there’s no better way than to begin a search mission among the many manufacturers attending the show in Las Vegas.

This year, ISC West kicks off a Signature Series Session. There are a couple of sessions that I would advise to pay particular attention.

At 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, a State of the Industry roundtable will take place. One of my favorite people in the industry, Sandy Jones, headlines the group. She will be joined by a panel that includes Ed Bonifas of Alarm Detection Systems and Bill Bozeman of PSA Security Network.

With solid growth and rapid technological integration, coupled with the lingering economic recession, the industry is at a crossroads. During the session, key leaders in the industry will analyze current and future trends, as well as talk about the demographics.

This session takes place just prior to the opening of the tradeshow doors and if open to all ISC West exhibitors and attendees in the Wayne Brady Theater.

On Thursday, March 25, authors Scott Shelby and Greg Campbell share a fascinating story that is sure to entertain. The Antwerp Diamond Center is one of the most secure buildings in the world. Millions of dollars of diamonds are stored in its subterranean vault. However, on Feb. 15, 2003, Italian thieves made off with nearly $500 million in diamonds, cash and other valuables.

The two writers authored "Flawless: Inside the Largest Diamond Heist in History." Shelby and Campbell will share how thieves each successive layer of security and figured out how to beat it. Don’t miss this show and tell.

Looking forward to attending ISC West. See you there.

    Luma x20

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.” 3
